For the new construction of the Etorki sawmill, BES Bollmann is realizing ten high-quality wood drying chambers for drying Maritime Pine (Seekiefer). The installation is designed for a high production capacity, consistent wood quality, and low energy consumption.
In addition, BES Bollmann and KARA Energy Systems jointly developed an integrated total solution. As a result, the biomass installation, the hot water network, and the drying chambers work together optimally. The NEXT control system communicates continuously with the KARA installation. This ensures the best heat distribution across the drying chambers at all times.

Wood drying
The installation consists of ten HT100 drying chambers for drying Maritime Pine (Seekiefer). Thanks to advanced air circulation and precise control, a homogeneous drying process is achieved with consistent wood quality.
Control and heat recovery
All drying chambers are equipped with the latest generation BES Bollmann NEXT control system. The integrated heat recovery (HRV) utilizes residual heat from the drying process, significantly reducing energy consumption and optimizing drying times.
Integration with KARA Energy Systems
The drying chambers are heated with hot water from the KARA Energy Systems biomass plant. The shared control system ensures that the heat is automatically distributed based on the current heat demand of each drying chamber. This creates an optimal heat balance and maximum efficiency of the entire installation.
