BES Bollmann has completed a large-scale turnkey project for leading pallet manufacturer IPS in Essen, Germany. The project included five new drying kilns and a fully integrated energy system, designed for the efficient drying and heat treatment of pallets.
The challenge: an integrated solution for large-scale capacity expansion
IPS had the ambition to significantly expand its production and treatment capacity. This required not only new, high-performance drying kilns, but also a powerful and fully integrated energy system capable of supporting the entire process. The challenge was to implement this complex project seamlessly with a single, central partner who could take full responsibility for both the drying technology and the complete energy supply.
A complete turnkey project
In close collaboration with energy specialist KARA, BES Bollmann delivered a complete turnkey solution perfectly tailored to the needs of the pallet industry. The project included:

Vijf nieuwe, hoogwaardige Drying Kilns, specifiek ontworpen voor het drogen en HT-behandelen van pallets.

Een krachtige, houtgestookte ketelinstallatie van KARA die de warmte levert voor het gehele systeem.

Het volledige leidingwerk dat de ketel verbindt met de Drying Kilns en andere bedrijfsonderdelen.
What makes this project particularly special is that the residual heat from the system is also used to heat the production halls, ensuring maximum energy efficiency. The entire drying process is managed by the robust and reliable Bollmann 910 control system.
The project was further completed by the relocation of an existing drying kiln, giving the Essen site an impressive total capacity of six drying kilns.
