Murray Timber Group drying kilns
The Murray Timber Group strives to be attractive to the entire chain – from forest owners to consumers. Their goal is to supply quality timber products at attractive prices, with short lead times and the lowest possible environmental impact.
Together with BES Bollmann and partner company KARA Energy Systems , an innovative and sustainable drying solution was developed and implemented in three phases:
- Phase 1:
Conversion of the existing drying chambers at two locations. Instead of completely replacing these chambers, they were circularly reused. Through smart new control systems and the integration of heat recovery, drying results were significantly improved and energy consumption was substantially reduced. - Fase 2:
In samenwerking met KARA Energy Systems werd een op maat gemaakte bio-energie oplossing ontwikkeld om de afhankelijkheid van fossiele brandstoffen te verminderen. Deze innovatieve oplossing verwarmt de Drying Kilns met biomassa (afvalhout) uit het eigen productieproces. Dit zorgt voor aanzienlijke kostenbesparingen en een duurzamere werkwijze. - Fase 3:
Om de droogcapaciteit verder uit te breiden, werd een conventionele droogoplossing toegevoegd. Deze is gekoppeld aan de bio-energie installatie, wat resulteert in nog kortere droogtijden en extra energiebesparing door warmte-terugwinning.
